Bridge clips are used in assembly processes where controlled forces are required during package assembly. A typical example would be a heat spreader attach process where mechanical forces are required to evenly spread an applied thermal interface material. This mechanically fixtured system is then thermally processed to cure the epoxy.

Controlled mechanical forces, preserved and maintained through a variety of thermal environments and thousands of thermal cycles are essential for consistent package manufacture. Auer has proven designs targeting +/- 0.2lb and lifetime consistency at 0.3lb over 10,000 cycles.

Bridge clips can be supplied in leaf spring or spring assisted piston configurations. Auer has supported conventional applications such as spreader attach, or unconventional, such as component attach, during a chip-on-flex process. Attach features to process carriers support both manual and fully automated attach and release methodologies.
