The 1551 series
allows the user to specify the capillary "T" dimension within the part
number, and should be used when an existing catalog series will not meet the
requirements of an application. The 1551 series is equipped with the
standard 90°

double inside
chamfer, and may be specified with a 120° double inside chamfer; other
inside chamfer angles may be specified as a moderate cost option. The 1551 series can be
designed for virtually any thermosonic wire bonding application.

A flat face 1551 may be specified by an "F", or by the actual
numerical value in the part number. A mathematical relationship exists
between the various dimensions at the capillary tip, when designing a part
number or when simply changing the cone angle, may wish to contact a
