metallization is used to construct electrical circuits onto ceramic or metal
substrates for automotive electronics, microelectronics packaging, resistive
heaters, and passive circuit applications. In the process, a series of metal
traces and up to 35 dielectric layers are created on the substrate using
sintering and drying processes. |

FUEL CELLS
Solid Oxide Fuel
Cells are precision electrochemical reactors. Thermal uniformity in the
firing process is required to achieve electrical and chemical reaction
reliability. For the high temperature firing of solid oxide cells, BTU
offers the Convection Batch Furnace
and the Continuous Pusher Furnace that
achieves the needed firing control to yield improved process and product
uniformity. |

DIFFUSION FURNACES
BTU’s
quartz lined furnaces have been optimized for phosphorus diffusion, in-line
processing of solar cells. Our unique fused quartz lined process chamber
design, thermal uniformity and atmosphere control, combine into a high
throughput, in-line solution. The
quartz lining creates a metal-free processing tunnel design which eliminates
the reaction with phosphoric acid.

anti-reflective coating. This is accomplished by the use of the
Atmospheric Chemical Vapor Deposition (APCVD) process. The system is

BTU’s
radiant dryers operate at temperatures up to 300°C. Often used for drying inks before firing
thick-and thin film circuits, they are also a particularly
cost-effective choice for most curing applications. The dryers are
available in a number of belt widths and lengths, and in both stand
alone and in line configurations.
